Recent PCLP assignments

UK
- Hinterland markets and business plan study for UK regional port to enable funding for new capital projects.
- £1bn plus transaction in 2018. Part of vendor's due diligence team on successful disposal of a port group’s assets and terminal operations. PCLP’s work included market and competitive landscape analyses, traffic development appraisals, business unit evaluations and review of operational five-year business plans. PCLP produced market and revenue projections of long term growth prospects in unitised and bulk cargoes.
- 2018: Port adviser for Intermodal traffic studies for regional transport organisation in partnership with two engineering consultancies.
- £1bn plus transaction that required comprehensive vendor due diligence work on a multi-port group’s assets and terminal operations. PCLP worked on future market prospects and projections for unitised and bulk cargoes, port asset evaluations, review of port masterplans, capacity analyses and operational five-year business plans. Comprehensive assessments were made of growth capex and maintenance capex requirements to support business development plans at a number of terminals.

- North Sea port: market and port traffic appraisal for funding options in a new facility in partnership with EY
- acquisition research and port site selection advice for an international logistics service provider in the Steel market
- port and waterborne freight adviser for DfT modal shift grants review in partnership with Arup

Mainland Europe and Turkey
- Turkey 2018: Contracted to provide private port with commercial due diligence for its multi-purpose services including import and export traffic of steel products, containers and cars. PCLP prepared port traffic analyses, revenue analyses, a market forecasting model and long term volume and revenue projections.
- Turkey 2017: Contracted to provide joint venture port with commercial due diligence for one of the largest container ports in Turkey and its wide range of General Cargoes. PCLP conducted a comprehensive, independent review of the port and its markets, prepared business performance analysis and long term market and revenue projections for a global investment bank and their other advisers. Transaction successfully completed for US$870m.
